Christian broadcasting

What is faith-focused broadcasting?

Faith-focused broadcasting is programming built around a faith audience: worship music, teaching, testimony, prayer and conversation, rather than occasional religious slots within general schedules.

Radio remains one of the UK's widest reaching media: Ofcom's Media Nations 2025 reports that 87% of UK adults aged 15 and over listened to radio each week in the first quarter of 2025. Premier Christian Radio, citing a 2018 ComRes survey, reports that 1.2 million people tune in every week.

Supply on mainstream television has contracted. Public service broadcasters aired 171 hours of religion and ethics programming in 2025, against 254 hours in 2013, with the BBC supplying almost all of it.

OPSCB, OPS Christian Broadcasting, is the Oxford Private Studios vertical being developed for this audience. OPS Gospel already broadcasts on OPS Radio.
